How to sort our lists to use in a Email marketing campaign program
Now that you have access to our database, you will see that we update our database with new lists. In order to store all the excel files on your computer to keep track of which ones you have uploaded, you will need to build a few folders on your computer. Below is a step by step process that we recommend you follow in order to be organized and send out campaigns properly and most effectively.
The steps below will show you how to download the excel files from our database into a folder named “ORIGINAL” onto your computer. Then it will instruct you on how to separate the “other” email accounts from the “yahoo/aol” email accounts to use in your campaigns.
1a) Go onto our leads list database drive
2a) Click on folder you would like to open: example: 2015
3a) Click on the excel file to open it in view-mode on your screen. Click the Download icon at the top. (this will automatically download the excel file onto your “download” folder on your computer.)
4a) You will need to do this process for all the excel files: Repeat #3 for all excel files.
———
Now your files are all stored in your “download” folder on your computer. We now need to save the files that are now downloaded in your “downloads” folder INTO a new folder on your computer named ORIGINAL.
1b) Create a new folder on your computer to store all new downloaded excel files. Name it ORIGINAL.
2b) Go to your “Downloads” folder on your computer. Move these files into the new ORIGINAL folder you created.
———
ALWAYS KEEP THE ORIGINAL FILES THAT YOU DOWNLOAD FROM THE DATABASE IN THE “ORIGINAL” FOLDER ON YOUR COMPUTER. DO NOT RENAME THESE.
VERY IMPORTANT: To remain out of SPAM and risk of your email account being deleted or Marked as spam, you must separate the “others” email accounts in one folder and “yahoo/aol” accounts in another folder to be sent out in separate campaigns. To do so, follow instructions below:
1c) Create a folder named: OTHER
2c) Open the excel file in your ORIGINAL folder and save it into OTHER folder with “other” in name. Example: MAR_2015_CT_1_other.xls
3c) Delete the top portion which is the Yahoo/Aol accounts. Save file.
4c) Repeat #2c for all excel files in ORIGINAL folder.
This will make sure you are not overwriting the files in the ORIGINAL folder.
You now have a clean list to use in your email marketing program which is saved in your OTHER folder.
———
Always use an email marketing program when sending out campaigns.
Now you can upload these clean lists that are in your OTHER folder into your email marketing program as a list to use for your campaigns. The email marketing program will clean out any duplicates.
———
Repeat steps 1c-4c if you would like to store the yahoo and aol files and name new folder YAHOO/AOL.
———
When new files come into our database, you will need to download and save these files into your ORIGINAL folder. Use steps #3a and #2b to download new file and move it from your documents folder to your ORIGINALS folder. Then continue to steps #2c.
